Don't Tell a Soul by Replacements Music Cd
I think this is a good Replacements album. It's definitely different from earlier albums with a more straight forward approach that's clean and well-behaved commercial feel-- like an adult alternative album. The album does explore a lot of different styles musically (Country "Aching to Be", reggae-ish "Asking Me Lies", and the bouncy mid-tempo old-timey pop ballad "They're Blind", and s shenanigan like "I Won't" to provide some relief from the melancholy of sad tribute "Rock n Roll Ghost" and the touching "Darling One" ) . This isn't a bad thing, but the celebratory angsty punk spirit of Tim and Let it Be doesn't stand out or appear (if it does, it's earnest or just delivered in a matter-of-fact way). This album feels serious, sad, sincere, melancholic, and very deliberate.
Don't Tell a Soul is the sixth studio album by the American rock band The Replacements, released on February 1, 1989 by Sire Records.
